Our Internal Testing

GV Health go the extra mile by internally testing our bags in compliance with ISO standards.

With state-of-the-art facilities and apparatus, we can measure the quality of our polymer products and can substantiate the performance of our waste bags, instilling confidence and trust in our products.

Dart impact A free-falling dart (of variable weight) falls from a prescribed height onto a stretched sample to measure the impact strength of a polymer film.

Performed in compliance with BS EN ISO 7765-1:2004

Spot thickness A sample is placed under the instrument’s measurement foot. The foot descends onto the sample, and distance between the instrument head and instrument stage is measured. This measures the thickness of selected areas of the sample to give us information on the thickness uniformity of a polymer film.

Performed in compliance with BS 2782-6, Method 630A: Determination of thickness by mechanical scanning of flexible sheet

Tear resistance A pendulum tester measures the force needed to extend an existing slit within a sample of polymer film. This measures the force required to tear the sample.

Performed in compliance with BS EN ISO 6383-2

Gravimetric thickness The sample’s density is measured by weighing it both in air and in a liquid of a given density. This data is used to calculate the sample’s density and measure the average thickness of a sample.

Performed in compliance with BS 2782-6: Method 631A: 1993 (ISO 4591:1992) – Plastics – Part 6 – Dimensional properties – Method 631A: Determination of gravimetric thickness and yield of flexible sheet

For The Future

The healthcare industry has seen a push on initiatives encouraging more sustainable operations. We know that polymer products have their place in healthcare settings, so we are committed to taking steps to lessen our environmental impact.

Quality Assurance@2x

We are working closely with customers and healthcare infrastructures like the NHS to meet collective goals for carbon reduction, and to improve sustainability profiles.

The first manufacturer to offer recycled content in 100% of our clinical waste bags, with a minimum of at least 30% recycled materials across the full range.
Increased the box size in 7 of our latest volume lines, delivering more bags per box whilst reducing packaging by 19% and reducing carbon emissions associated with delivery.
100% of our black domestic waste bags contain over 30% recycled content and the % is continuously increasing.
