Product Overview
SoChlor DST
Clean and Disinfect
An essential in infection prevention and control (IPC) across sectors, SoChlor (Sodium dichloroisocyanurate, NaDCC) is a smart, sustainable precursor to hypochlorous acid, a safe and effective chlorine-based disinfectant. Combined with a compatible detergent to remove light soiling, SoChlor DST can rapidly and effectively clean and disinfect surfaces in one simple step. SoChlor DST tablets contain pre-dosed chemicals to achieve the correct concentration every time, reducing user error.
Smart Technology – Hypochlorous Acid
SoChlor’s biomimetic technology emulates the same response as certain white blood cells in the body, in which hypochlorous acid (a biocide with low toxicity and high biodegradability) is released to kill pathogens. Activated upon dissolving in water, SoChlor DST also releases hypochlorous acid (from NaDCC), a smart approach to delivering hypochlorous acid, making it more resistant to interference by dirt, further enhancing its performance in real world environments. Hypochlorous acid is up to 100x more effective than bleach, enabling SoChlor DST to kill pathogens with known resistance to conventional biocides, such as mycobacteria, spore-forming bacteria and non-enveloped viruses. This makes SoChlor DST the perfect solution for high-level disinfection during outbreaks, epidemics and pandemics. For example, SoChlor DST proved effective at killing the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sustainable and cost-effective format
SoChlor DST is a highly sustainable and cost-effective solution for infection prevention and control. Its compact tablet format reduces space requirements during transport and storage and reduces packaging requirements. The high stability of the tablet achieves a 5-year shelf life (over twice as long as other liquid disinfectants) limiting product write-off. The pre-dosed chemicals also prevent chemical overuse and waste from user error.
SoChlor DST is proven to kill bacteria, mycobacteria, spore forming bacteria, fungi and viruses, certified to: BS EN 1276, BS EN 13624, BS EN 13697, BS EN 13704, BS EN 13727, BS EN 14348, BS EN 14476, BS EN 1650, BS EN 16615 and BS EN 17126. SoChlor DST usage conforms to guidelines from the National Health Service (NHS), Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC), UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and World Health Organisation (WHO).
